Kinbaku, meaning “tight binding” refers to the Japanese practice of erotic, rope bondage. lt is commonly known as Shibari, however Kinbaku emphasises the emotion and “tight” feeling from binding a person with rope.

In this Initiation Workshop, students will learn basic ties and techniques to enjoy kinbaku together.
The focus is on creating evocative and playful scenes, coming from a solid understanding of basic foundational ties and interpersonal communication techniques.
We will cover some theory (a brief history of kinbaku, our style and approach, and safety concepts). Then students will learn hands-on rope-handling, classical techniques and playful ties that they can enjoy together.
Couples will leave with kinbaku they can use today for play and intimacy; as well as an understanding of how they can continue to learn and improve after the workshop ends.
This course will not include suspension, but students who successfully complete this course will have taken the first steps required to progress into a suspension course.
This course is designed for couples. We are proudly Queer space and welcome all people, genders and role expressions.

About the Instructors
Lana Kan is an international BDSM and rope instructor, delivering workshops in Berlin (EURIX25 & EURIX26) and Spain. She started her journey with rope in 2015 in Australia, as rigger, bottom and self-tying. Since moving to Spain she has studied kinbaku with many international rope professionals, but she is most influenced by her time learning with Akira Naka and Shizuki Iroha, Kasumi Hourai, Alexander Ma and Natasha NawaTaNeko, and Toronawa.
Midori started as a rope bottom in Italy in 2023. From the beginning she felt a strong interest in semenawa and emotional vulnerability in rope. She has attended Naka inspired workshops and lessons in Italy and Berlin; and delivered workshops in Spain and Berlin.
She has been researching about personal development as a bottom, as expressed by Japanese forms of kinbaku. In addition to this, she is committed to create a community for rope bottoms that provide connection, knowledge and support.
